MALL-2007: benchmarks for development of shopping center industry are specified in Russia
The forum was of great interest for the sector specialists. The area of the exhibition exposition, as compared to 2006, was twice as big (it was about 2,500 sq. m). Among the exhibitors were 155 companies from 20 regions of Russia, as well as the ones from Australia, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, the USA and Ukraine. Its business program gathered together about 700 people. The total number of specialists who visited the exhibition was about 5,000. The unique character of the MALL exhibition features its focus on the trade sector of the commercial real estate. This enables developers to present the detailed projects of the shopping centers and working facilities to maximally interested audience: potential tenants, designers, architects, builders, etc. The dynamic growth of the trade real estate in Russia, as well as the purposeful work of the forum organizers stipulate for the constantly high percentage of new market participants visiting the exhibition for the first time – they are of particular interest to both management consulting companies and the equipment and services suppliers represented in the exposition. The participants of MALL-2007 exhibition unanimously marked the new quality of the event organization. A lot of exclusive stands, specially equipped VIP-hall for negotiations and visitors' zone, general design and the exhibition promotion correspond to the international level, as well as to the volumes of investments to this sector. This was confirmed also by the positive comments from the managers of International Council of Shopping Centers in Europe (ICSC-Europe), who, for the first time, worked at the exibition within the framework of their own stand and who also took an active part in the conference program as experts. It is necessary to note that every year the Russian Council of Shopping Centers, as the main organizer of the most significant events in the exhibition business program, manages to find the right balance between the Russian and Western market approaches and to attract speakers who are able to give the clear guidelines for the development of domestic business. According to the results of a questionnaire survey, about 95 per cent of MALL-2007 exhibitors expressed their desire to take part in 2008 exhibition.
