During the 4th International conference “The concept of the Russian shopping center” which was held on April, 15 in 2004 in Moscow more than 300 experts from 24 regions of Russia, the Ukraine, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain and Canada discussed the issues of location choice and a concept of a shopping center; the effectiveness of management and brand promotion; problems of reprofiling and reconstruction of large properties of the consumer market.
The executives of the industry leaders such companies as ECE Projectmanagement GmbH, “Aeroport Gallery”, “Incomrealinvest”, “Delta-Service”, “Piter”, “Macromir” and consulting companies Jones Lang LaSalle and Paul’s Yard presented their work experience on the Russian market.
The development trends of retail and shopping center industry inUkraine was analyzed by the representatives of the Ukrainian Council of Shopping Centers as well as by GFK Co., “Osnova Solsrtoy” and “Kievgorstroy” Co.
The special session was dedicated to the movie theatres in the shopping centers. The general director of “Nevafilm” Co. Oleg Beresin made the review the this market in Russia and the vice-president of “Imax Theatre” in North Europe, Russia and Central Asia John Shreiner told about the latest-day technologies offered by his company.

The first conference on this subject was organized in 2001 in Cyprus and first raised the subject of shopping centers in Russia.
